ABOUT ROXANA

Romanian born pianist Roxana Bajdechi Frizzi has appeared as a soloist as well as a chamber musician in Europe, Asia, and the US. After moving to Boston to further her studies, and joining the dynamic and diverse musical community of the area, Mrs. Frizzi decided to make her home in the US. She currently resides in Hamilton, MA, where she enjoys the exciting and fulfilling blend of her performing and teaching careers.

Mrs. Frizzi grew up in Constanza, Romania, where she started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. Her musical sensitivity and pianistic talent soon emerged and, at the age of eight, she was awarded the First Prize at the Mozart Piano Competition in her home town. The following years were to bring many other awards and prizes. Mrs. Frizzi now holds close to twenty such distinctions, including the Valentino Bucchi Prize (Rome, Italy), and an Award from the National Critics Association of Romania. During the last few years, she received an Honorary Award from the Ovidius University (Constanta, Romania), a Diploma of Excellence from the National Radio Society of Romania for promoting Romanian culture worldwide, and she most recently became a proud recipient of the 2016-2021 Steinway & Sons Top Teacher Award for outstanding instruction and leadership in piano education.

I think Roxana is a very good piano teacher. She is very nice, smart, and patient. She encourages me to work hard. When I finished my lessons, she gave me a medal and a bracelet. Having Roxana as a teacher is a great way to learn piano.

Miss Roxana has impressed us from the very beginning with her ability to teach young children like our son. He began taking weekly lessons with her at age four. Her kindness and patience have instilled a joy of learning in him and he eagerly looks forward to each week’s session. It is remarkable to see the progress he has made both in skill and endurance. Miss Roxana has given him a confidence in his own abilities that is likely to have an impact on multiple aspects of his development in these important early years. We feel incredibly lucky that she is our instructor.

Roxana has been working with our daughter for almost ten years. Roxana has developed a wonderful relationship of trust and inspiration with her and we have been thrilled to watch our daughter’s piano playing evolve from the very basics to complex classical compositions. Roxana is an extraordinary teacher and a wonderful musician with a strong commitment to nurture a lifelong love of music in her students.
